Set out this morning to attack Ben Vorlick. Roads from Falkirk to Callander were poor following snowfall, so called it as we drove by Ben A'an and decided to do the mini mountain instead.
Carpark is right at foot of ascent, which takes you up a steep hill and then onto steps. A clearing at the top of these steps allows site of the summit, which for its height did look imposing covered in snow. Amazingly trianglaur sharp point.
We must have been one of the first up the hill that day (9am) as had to track a path out of the snow. Was harder work than expected, and both us got wet following landing in a burn that was conciled under snow. As we summitted we took a longer back end route to help with the snow, which was 3-4ft at this point. The standard route to the summit was past our abilities in winter.

Day was beutiful, no wind nor rain. Enjoyed some soup at the top, and made for an easy decent, which by this time had be padded down more by the numerous other climbers.

Done this hill many times in the summer, the difference of doing it in snow was unbelievable. Looks like a different hill and was far more technical. Great views for the height. One of my favourite smaller hills.

Apart from the dunking early on, it looked like a perfect to be out & about...stunning views.

A great wee hill indeed. Quite a change in the snow cover compared to last Friday.
