After being out with friends over the festive period, most;y local hills, it was now time to venture out solo. Fabcied something straightforward but providing impressive views. The Wee Bookil seemed to fit the bill. Got up at my usual 6.30am and headed North. Started walking at 9am.
The forecast promised sunshine and clear views, however it looked pretty dull at the off. thankfully this cleared up. It turned out to be a beautiful morning
The path was very icy from the off, but I navigated through it without crampons...as I did the whole walk.
The start
The Bealach
Decided to take in SCR first, leaving the lovely ridge to SD for afters
Ascending to SCR
Views in every direction now sublime.
Reached the summit, and had it all to myself
The wonderful ascent up and along the ridge to SD lay ahead, it didn't disappoint.
Final part of the ridge
Summit, with great views down Loch Etive.
Sat here, again with no one around, and enjoyed some lunch. What a spot . Eventually dragged myself away and started my descent back down the ridge. views still sublime.
In no time at all I was back at my car! It had been a fantastic morning Hard to believe that you can be sitting on a snowy summit in Glencoe within three hours from leaving Glasgow, but thank goodness you can
