The guard asked me to sit in the buffet car as there was no heating on in the other carriage. Then the train conduchor/ host asked me if i wanted the use of a berth. Very kind of him but ill just sit and have a chinwag and a coffee with any other sad singles who want company as well

Only one to get off the train today and saw no else all day apart from whren I got down from leum Uilliem and about to head up to Beinn na Lap - some Lord of the manor looking rather splendid in his deerstslker and plus 4's....
On over An Diollaid skirted Beinn a Bhric and up to leum Uilliem. Today would have been a good day for one of those viewfinder apps although most tops are recognisable. It would have steeper and dodgier going over and down past Stob an Lagain Ghaibh so it was back the way I came. Deceptive looking mountain as leum Uilliem summit doesn't look the highest point - until you're on top.
Treated to a fly past by some of the RAF's finest today on the way back to the station - one typhoon and 2 Hercs. Impressive
And then it was along the track and went left at the walkers welcome sign and pick a point to head up looked for some grass or heather sticking out - least i knew it wouldnt be deep on that. Hard slog up through the snow and I managed to locate a couple of streams under it - lucky me!!!
Up and up through the deep snow and some bits of rock to walk over which was a respite
Up to the summit. Good views all round again. Not hanging around as I'd a train at half sixish to catch.
Followed my own prints back down until I came to a set of snow shoe prints which were heading directly down to the fence. I'll use those prints to go back down. The snow show prints were probably in ankle deep which shows the bonus of them - whereas I was calf deep.
Back down at ten past 5 and one lad sitting there who'd walked in from staying overnight at a bothy over by Loch Treig.
Good walk taking in both hills with a little time to spare waiting - less time than last year and also not as cold as last year.
Note to self - drink more even if you're not very thirsty. Felt cramp coming on once or twice but it never materialised.
