This is an absolutely gorgeous walk 20 minutes from my home but I haven't been here for years and only came back because of this website . OK the sun always makes a difference but the wind was bitter so the shelter of the woods was very pleasant. Sunshine and snowdrops were in abundance. To get to the car park at Dunmore Pineapple you have to tackle a road full of potholes but it is worth it. We used to come here years ago but the surprise was the improvements made to paths and the snowdrops at the garden. If you love snowdrops then come here in February.
After walking through the formal National Trust property we couldn't find the path to the woods because of the ongoing drainage work. The path for the walk mentioned on this site is back along the road to the wee sign post. We instead went over a fence and skirted the edge of the woods till we find the track. Google maps at this point is not much help, but if you don't know this area remember the river is East.
This is a very straightforward walk but if you are in the central belt and can no longer do hills or have only a short time to get outside this is a brilliant flat walk.
