Ascent from Beinn Laggan(sic) signed forestry commission track end at NS112987 on A815 southeast of Strachur. (The OS map has obsolete tracks such as that a few hundred metres nearer Strachur just southeast of Garrell from NS109991 rising southeast to an upper track at NS114988 is no longer).

After a couple of hundred metres an obvious wide firebreak at NS116983 shown on 1:25,000 map follows a stream up to a higher track at NS117985 which is followed to left northwest past the non-existent junction NS114988 and continuing on the track to another obsolete track junction at NS113992 where a firebreak follows a stream up to a higher track at NS114993. a hundred metres right along the track leads to another wide firebreak, not on 1:25,000 map, follows a stream also not on the map up to the upper edge of the forest at NS116993. From there it is a straight line northeast, to the east of the two streams on the map, to the top marked only with a trig pyramid 465m in under 2 hours. Good views of Cowall hills, Arran and Jura.
Return by same route but could be difficult finding the initial firebreak down as it is not obvious - a GPS with route tracking is helpful.

The firebreaks could be difficult in July/August from bracken and brambles and a some minor tree branch bashing is involved as well as care with some slippery branch debris underfoot.
