High Pike and Carrock FellDecided to tick off these two Northern Fells today as the weather didn't look good enough for a really long hike. I was right.
Got out of the car which was parked on the road up to Mosedale; and instantly had to don the 'waterproofs'. I made my way along the stream before crossing and heading along the path up toward the mines. About twenty minutes into the torrential rain my 'waterproof' trousers gave up the ghost and I was soaked... The jacket held firm though.

From the mines I made my way up into the clouds and across to High Pike. Extremley windy and very very wet. I didn't stop just moved straight on and down the other side, heading for Carrock.

I followed the fells along to Carrock Fell, and climbed to its summit. Again the wind and rain were ridicolous so I didn't stop, turning around a beat a hasty retreat down the fell and back to the car.

Do waterproof trousers even exist, or is it a myth?
