Parked up on the main road A940 just past Dava opposite the top of the Knock.
Watched a shower pass over and had our lunch. Initial plan was to follow the path round to the south and up head up north in a gap in the heather to the top.
However on the drive up, we couldn't see any gaps giving easy access to the top from the south side, so we elected to just go the short direct route from the east through the bog and heather. This wouldn't be a problem for a fit party, but for this auld buddy it was a bit of struggle for my first day out this year.
We followed a "grassy" streak to avoid the deep heather , which was a bit boggy , so we just blundered our way through it
Fortunately, it's not very far and we made it to the top, only to be confronted by a massive Fannery, spoiling the view. It seems that we can't escape these "wonder maschines" . Green energy indeed - more like expensive energy, and not only in monetary terms - who wants to look at white fans scattered all over the countryside ! OK I'll stop moaning about it..........

View to Lochindorb was ok, so I turned my back on the fans.

nice hill that Gordon - its better to park up on the lay-by on the right hand (east) side of the road just to the south a bit. from there there's a wee path heading towards a white boulder high up on the hill, makes for a much better route up.
