Start is at locked forestry gate near 245m spot height on A866 opposite communication masts, 1.5km to high point on track where there is a turning area and a firebreak on right by a stream. Easier to ascend to right of stream to broken stock fence at edge of forest. Cross to left of stream shortly and follow fence, crossing to left through a gap with absent gate. The fence goes to lochan then left towards summit with remains of dry stane dyke doing likewise. Trig pyramid marks summit 508m in 1hr 10min and 242m ascent. Good views to Arran, Jura, Mull, Cruachan etc The lochan is unusual in that it drains by two streams - one going NW and the other S but they both meet up contributing to the River Ruel. Return by ascent route.

Looks like a nice short walk. I've a few hills left to do in this area, so will be returning to your report at some point to pinch the route
