Walkhighlands

For the last day of our Easter trip we wanted to get a bit closer to home to reduce the journey on BH Monday, so decided on one of the outstanding hills in Bridge of Orchy. As a bonus the weather was forecast to be fine, which we welcomed after the last couple of days.
After driving down from Newtonmore we parked at the parking area at Achaladair Farm and headed up the line of the Allt Coire Achaladair into the snow line and up onto the ridge line.

The views from the top were fantastic in all directions with hardly a cloud in the sky and sunglasses required.
We followed the ridge to Beinn Achaladair, a munro we had previously visited and then continued towards our goal for the day. The descent to the bealach before Meall Bhuidhe was very steep, but there was enough give in the snow to plant your feet quite securely.
After three days effort the last climb up to Beinn a' Chreachain was more challenging than it should have been.

It was worth it once we arrived and could take our lunch in glorious sunshine.

For our return we descended towards Coire Dubh Mor with snow making the going good.

Indeed we were able to take a line quite early towards the Allt Coire an Lochain step-sliding down the snow and dropping height rapidly.
Once below the railway line we followed the track back to the farm, just as a few clouds started to appear.
All in all a great day out, snow and fine weather, even a sun-burnt face
