Wednesday, 20th. July, 1977:
Day ten of a trek from Dalmally to Roybridge with a group of school mates and, having had a tough time on the eastern Mamores on Tuesday, I slept through the night and was feeling fit enough to cope with what was an easy day. We made good time over a low pass to Luibeilt and crossed the Abhainn Rath before grinding up the Allt nam Fang and over a well cairned col, stopping for a bite to eat on a path contouring above the Allt Feith nan Sac. From here it was a relatively easy climb up steep grass and onto the eastern spur descending from the summit of Stob Ban.

It was a quick run back to the main sacks from the summit and then an easy descent to the bothy in the Lairig Leacach where we camped. Later in the evening someone got a fire going and everyone crowded into the very basic interior of the bothy where, alongside a bit of singing, I seem to remember Chris Tanner getting a tune out of the metal frame of a Berghaus rucksack.
It doesn't seem more than forty years ago.
