Brilliant but sad report having just lost our beloved friend Chippy 19th December 2017. It does leave a hole in your heart. But also happy memories to boot.

Just returned from the vets and read this report. Our Border Terrier, Bracken who is 13 years old has been losing weight and may have cancer. We are waiting for test results.
Just makes you think of all the happy times walking the hills with the dogs. Thanks for posting and I hope you find another dog when the time is right.

Was really sorry to read your FB post on this, she was a lucky dog. Her job is complete in that she has inadvertently helped you guys and more importantly your daughter understand the great circle of life. The lovely thing coming from it all is its maybe just left a gap that needs filled by another such hound to help with the next chapter. ATB Matt

Wonderful tribute to Lucy. She has had a fantastic life being out there in the hills and these are the memories you will treasure. Reading it brings back my memories of my black labrador Jessie who died a few years ago. This a photo of her

Having had the great pleasure to walk with Lucy and see her in her element, it is a sad but fitting tribute to her. I was glad to give her a final pat before she went on into the next life...

sorry for your loss :-(

"If you bury him in this spot, the secret of which you must already have,s he will come to you when you call—come to you over the grim, dim frontiers of death, and down the well-remembered path, and to your side again. And though you call a dozen living dogs to heel they should not growl at her, nor resent her coming, for she is yours and she belongs there.
People may scoff at you, who see no lightest blade of grass bent by her footfall, who hear no whimper pitched too fine for mere audition, people who may never really have had a dog. Smile at them then, for you shall know something that is hidden from them, and which is well worth the knowing.
The one best place to bury a good dog is in the heart of her master"

I defy any dog owner (past or present) to read that and not have a wee tear form in the corner of their eye. Thank you.
