Cracking stuff - winter is approaching 8)

Nothing like the prospect of a Brocken to have you running up to cliff edges and peering over!

Looks a fun day :D

Cheers guys and gals...this is my first winter climbing so really pleased to get some good pics and have a load of fun on the way to climb this impressive piece of granite :D . Also met some really interesting folk (and dogs) and all in 5 hours. Until last week didn't know anything about inversions and Herr Brocken so you don't have to go to school to get an education.... (however I would reccommend you do)

Can't wait till Friday and the meet up at Glencoe......bring it on :D

Hi Jockstar,
It was great to see so much snow cover so early, although we only saw it from loch level and it was a pleasure to read as an armchair climber today. As a local I have to correct you on the mountains you saw to the East ( You did mention the need to brush up your map reading!) There are no jagged bits on Meall Tairneachan, just a cioch, and no Alders on Meall Odhar so have another look! Did you see any ptarmagan? They would be well camouflaged that day. Welcome back and I can recommend The Loch Tummel Inn on the North side of Loch Tummel for a pint and good food.

Hi Allan and Birgitta

Thanks for your comments and am grateful for you pointing out that I had the wrong hills. ..Memo ..must improve my map reading! We had such a great time on Schiehallion that mean't that we could take back some great piccies and memories and if you could allow me some artistic licence on the wrongly named hills!
We didn't see any Ptarmagan but will take you up on thr Loch Tummel Inn the next time we are up in the area. Looks like it will be Lawyers next so will try and drop inn. Always like to help, the local community..lol

Cheers
