It was a Panasonic Lumix TZ7. It's repairable, just a dent in the zoom mechanism but it's stopping it from working. Frustrating.

Doubly so - I imagine carrying a non-functioning camera would have been weight you didn't need

And the tripod. If I'm honest, I just forgot about it after I did it - no point dwelling on it. It's not like I was in an amazing wilderness filled with awesome photo opportu... damn it.

I've got some semi-formed plans for Knoydart but I have to wait until winter is over. My friend works in Inverie, so I need to take in the hostelry there as part of any trip.

Lots of options in Kintail - great mix of hills too. Plenty of wild-camp options
Got a week on Knoydart (Inverie) next year - cannae wait

That's what I like, bags of enthusiasm, effort and imagination. My biggest effort now is keeping it going as strong as I approach my 66th year.
Dave.
Dave.

Thanks. I've got those 3, but I've no time!
I think it might be Kintail/Affric next.

Excellent report and epic trip. I'm keen to know how you get on with the Terrocs and crampons
I do envy you though, it's the sort of thing I'd love to do but my (lame) excuse is I don't have a car to zip up north, do trip, zip back in time to get on with grim reality of life

Cracking report. This is the level of detail I'd like to include in reports but can never muster the enthusiasm to do so when I get back to the old PC.
A friend of mine did exactly that to two poor walkers who were climbing Beinn Eunaich. He'd been sat on the saddle between Beinn Eunaich and Beinn a'Chochuill munching on his breakfast when the two walkers past within feet of him without even noticing he was there. Being the dastardly little pixie that he is, he spotted an opportunity to play a trick on them when they ditched their packs at the foot of Bein Eunaich. He emptied some of their kit out, added some rather large rocks, and then put their kit back in.
Those poor guys must still be wondering how the hell the rocks found their way into the bags.
