Thankyou so much everyone for the kind comments - it was a wonderful day

Least it's soft when you fall over

Amazing - could be the Arctic. Dawn and dusk are the best times in the mountains - but dawn is better because the air - particularly in winter - is so clear.
Totally agree - I love a clear winter day

Braver than me
CMD intimidates me in the summer
My 'other' hill is looking very majestic.
Scary cornices.
I seen a guy standing on the Gardyloo cornice in early summer one year.
Will always remember his ignorance to his fate
.
What a stunning day.
No rain clouds in FortW
It was funny looking at the cornices - kind of scary how easy it would be to walk onto one in bad viz
But mighty impressive too
That North face just blew me away!! So so awesome
Roland Tattiescone wrote:I did CMD and Nevis in a similar fashion last summer - leaving from the North Face carpark at 1am to catch the sunrise from CMD. Conditions that day were just beautiful with a cloud inversion and Brocken spectre but I think my day has just been topped
The inversion must have been pretty special! I remember my first broken spectre on Bidean and the only thing i could see was CMD and Nevis that day

Go for it!!!
