Day 3

About 20 km give of take - GPS rough figure.
and about 1800m ascent - rough estimte from the map

If was to be a bit windy again so another late ish start.
10 past 9 and walking past the phone box and the 1st destination of Beinn Liath Mhor. Fuar thol is the one stealing the show though. Halfway up the steep ascent on the scree and boulders I sat down for a bit and surveyed the land. 2 were heading into Coire lair and 1 was a bit behind them . Maybe he'd head my way.
On up to the 1st large cairn on the ridge and it was time for a bit of a rollercoaster along the ridge until the summit of Beinn Liath Mhor is reached

At this point i brought the Lest we Forget flag out and secured it with some rocks to the cairn while a pic was taken. It's normally to remember and pay tribute to a few i knew who never made it back. Today I thought of the families and friends of the 2 lads Alan and Neil who went walking on these very hills not so long ago and never came home.

It was a bit windy today and I was glad the rain and mist had stayed away. Getting down to the beallach and lochan was tricky in one place. There's a couple of small cairns dotted around which guide you to the steep gulley and down. Little bit of care and time and you'll be down at the lochan.

On up to Sgor Ruadh and a few larger patches of snow to go over.

Had only planned on 2 until I waited on Sgorr Ruadh for the lad who I knew was about 20 mins behind me- nothing to do with my legs bring tired - honest. :D
Silver bullet from on here it was. He asked if I was going the Corbett as well. Kinda hopped he wouldn't ask :) i said id go down a bit and see how I felt. On down we went till we came across the descent path. On up we went - why come all this way and not do the 3 together. Seemed a shame not too. My thighs said otherwise. On up some loose scree and boulders. The odd wee scramble.
Up to the top cairn and realised it was only the top of the buttress. Take care round here if the mist is down. Clise to the edge!
The wind shelter was still a few hundred metres away. Round and up to it and had a wee break. Fuar Tholl added as a bonus- get in there.

Cap doffed to Beinn Liath Mhor, Sgor Ruadh and Fuar Tholl

Cheers
And cheers for the company on the last stretch Silver Bullet. Safe walking my friend. Maybe see you on Skye or some other hill
Epic day
