After taking the train from Roy Bridge we set off at 08.35 into misty weather. The route is very clear to Peter's Rock after which we just set off on a bearing east up boggy tussock grass, eventually reaching the high point of the ridge which we then followed to the summit of Carn Dearg arriving at 11.00. Hunkered down in the lee side of the summit cairn to shelter from the freezing wind to have an early lunch (the summit photo captured Neil mid sandwich).

After a relaxing break we set off NE for Sgor Gaibhre. The wind dropped a little and it was easy going up the well trodden footprints to the summit.

We didn't spend as long here and set off north towards Sgor Choinnich, contouring round at about 800m before heading west for the loch side. We then headed back at a good pace in the hope there might have been an earlier train beck. We arrived at the station at 1.24pm to find the next train was not until 3.24. However, the weather had improved by this time so we hung our clothes out to dry on fencing and spend a couple of hours drinking tea in the cafe.
