Weather: Breezy with hazy sunshine. Feeling warm (high teens?).
Underfoot: Good paths throughout (but route not waymarked).
Notes: Decent little walk with a wild feel. Road is marked as "closed ahead" from Straiton onwards, but the closed section (which is due to subsidence, and is still open to local traffic) is further south than the car park. It was bank holiday Monday and the car park was full, but only passed one other group on the hill - where was everyone? Navigation is straightforward (almost none needed!), with just a couple of path / road junctions on the way back.
