Not a nice day but the holidays are coming to an end soon so I had to get out. At Dorback I couldn't get across the river (without getting my feet wet so went the long way) Started up another track but got into the clag early and had the compass out at the watershed and got deep heather and moss with snow on top at 550m and then all the way to the top.
Going go a little easier on the crest of the ridge where an old line of fence posts gave accuracy to the bubble encumbered compass and we found the top. Sandwiches and biscuits all round. No views until we started down.
Compass bearing off and we aventually picked up the track leading us back to the ford. Which we crossed but we were already wet by then.
