Finally...I get to read this report in its entirety!

Willie, it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to be able to invite myself along to this epic.

I first met you on that day five years ago...you were a broken man and hardly had the energy to glance up and mutter a "hello". My Marine was just a teenager (he is now a young man...how old does that make me feel??) and we were heading for the full traverse of An Teallach, his day was actually made when he recognised the Legend that is Gammy-leg Walker. It would still be another three years before we actually met in person and I was honoured to share your Buckfast! We have now walked many times, I have met your wonderful family and look forward to every meander. We are in quiet competition for that last balloon though!

I want to thank you Both, you and Polly, for making my birthday so special and so memorable. The lunch, the presents but most of all, the adventure!

I have forgotten the early start, the Jakey trousers, the terrible farting and the Lady Leaks but the views and memories and photographs I will treasure for ever...
