Walked this route on 1/9/07,everything fine until after passing Mains of Bunachton and going through gates as per walk instructions and found our path barred by an electric fence.( I didn't try to find out if it was active!) has anyone else encountered this problem? We louped through bog myrtle to find an altrnative path and did get back onto the track. This aside, it's a really fine walk with great views

Thanks for your note Beth. We have contacted South Loch Ness Access group who look after this route to ask about the obstruction.

Here is the latest news on this:

"It was put in to the hands of the Highland Region Access Officer... who has visited and written to the landowner requesting that he put in appropriate gates to allow passage for walkers, riders and cyclists."

I understand the problem with the electric fence has been resolved and access to Loch Bunachton restored, Beth Grant
