Beinn na h-Eaglaise. 7.8km 790m 4h. 27/ 05/ 2018

The party last nite was great, thanks to the Braes of Fife club

I rise before 6, gather my gear and pack my big sac in the dinning room.
Eat breakfast then head for the Torridon inn ng889541. Gear up then cross the road and take a good path beside the Allt coire roill. It climbs thro Scots Caledonian pine and leads you above a gorge then a waterfall. I last saw this when doing Beinn Damh, this time however I take the 50m detour, then cross the river and back for 50m to follow a good path to a rise. Strike off E here, up hill over heather grass and rock. The going is dry as I wend my way past the lower crags and gain a higher ridge. More crags – I scale some rock walls then grass, another sandstone scramble finds ridge proper. A few false tops, dips and lochans before reaching the large cairn top@736m
Great views Beinn Damp and Alligan. There’s a hill fire burning to the W of Ruadh-mheallan.
It looks bad. I eat a roll and drink, check my map then drop SW down stony ground, then grass and heather. Cross an awkward section to two lochans, over a top before down to the Drochaid Coire Roill bealach. Once on the path, it was an easy walk back to the Inn and car, then the long drive home. Seen enroute, One female doing my route – umpteen doing Beinn Damh, Deer birds goats sheep and birds. Plenty toads frogs Lizards and two snakes (different hills). The weather was great if too hot. Came to do six, managed three, still they snip another bit off the map.
A good w/ e
