Some bag!! Congratulations. Now we have done all the Marilyns we can, we are coming down to the Lakes to take a look at them, but probably not with a view to completing them.....ever. Was Rannerdale Knotts saved for a completion, so that others could come, or did things just happen that way?

I know someone who completed her first round of Munros from Plymouth, so it is possible. You could do the English Marilyns, the Hewitts or (horrifying thought,) the 447 Pedwarau. Last time I looked (May 2017) only 3 people had done them. Or just bask in the Wainwright acheivment and do hills because they are nice rather than on some list.

This one was saved until last because the man who got me into hill walking had just had a hip op and I wanted him there so I saved the smallest one I had left and then waited until he was fit enough

Never heard of a Pedwarau. Some of the Munro's I think are beyond my head for heights. my partner has her Wainwrights to finish so I will do those with her then I need to have a think about where and what after that

For Pedwarau, see here

http://www.haroldstreet.org.uk/waypoints/download/400s/?list=pedwars

We were doubtful if a woman who was to come across Loch Seaforth with us on a hired boat could manage the 6 Marilyns she had set out to do in a day, then found she was the first woman (and probably only about the third person) to complete them,. That's how we found out about them. Needless to say, I had food poisoning and fell asleep near the first cairn under the influence of immodium, and we went straight back. She skipped over them (with a replacement hip). Duracell needs to throw away that bunny and employ her to advertise them.

Congratulations! A great achievement.

My dad and uncle (twins) finished "all the Lakeland peaks" a few years back (their own list really). Took them 50 years, I reckon. I joined them for the last few over a weekend celebrating by staying in the Kirkstile Inn. Made me appreciate just how many tops there are in the Lake District.
