Having done the Beinn Dearg 4 in the morning, Sgurr Breac and A'Chailleach seemed a nice way to use the late afternoon and early evening light.
The recent drought helped progress no end, and the Fhearna face was soon reached and climbed with no issue. It would be very different in wet conditions.
The ridge walk is pleasant and the gradual height increase is welcomed by slightly complaining lungs and legs.
The views improve no end, both down into the loch and across to the more illustrious neighbours.
Leaving the bag at Toman Coinnich, the lighter load up A’Chailleach and back is notable and the going is relatively easy. I opt for the same approach for Sgurr Breac as it would save on tired legs, the walk down the Druim Reidh is nice and particularly as the steep Fhearna face was so dry.
The fragmented sun across the moors, hills and Loch Fannich make for great viewing. Slioch and the Torridon mountains are a hazy, lazy mix of pastel blues. Even An Teallach appeared softer.
Down in time and round to the Poolewe area to catch the sunset.
