Scotland Hikers Giant Midgies and a surprise View

With a "sitting on the fence" forecast, rain and giant Midgies out in the most amazing force, my first thought was I should have cancelled this walk . As others arrived few people were quick to disagree that this was some kind of a mistake or move from the relative safety of the cars, the midgies and rain were a daunting thought for most people . This was confirmed again by the fact we were the only group in the carpark and on the hill a rare sight these days.

For much of the assent the cloud was low and views were restricted (all photos were taken on the descent) however this did nothing to take away the fact that is a really enjoyable hill with changing scenery all the way up and a few boulders requiring some very easy scrambling kept the interest up. At some stage I lost the path only noticing when started to loose height not for long but a reminder that this can happen in restricted visibility if not paying attention.

The group reached the summit resigned to the fact that we were not going to see anything none the less the top of this one has a fantastic big Cairn which gives shelter from the wind we started our descent unbelievably just as we left the top the cloud cleared and the view opened up a quick re-accent was made to the cairn for some photos.
Somehow the view seemed even better as it was completely unexpected. The descent was straight forward we took the suggested alternative descent path back to the track it was easy going for a descent.

There was nothing which was not enjoyable about this walk once away from the layby!
This is one I have no doubt will re-visit some day.
