An evening walk (and wild camp on the lower slopes, though the estimated time excludes that) in order to stretch my legs after the long drive up. And, also, seeking an early start on Ben More and its neighbours the next morning.

The ground was welcomely dry, though not very level and a bit tussocky, where I pitched. And it could obviously be quite wet in anything other than the unusual and sustained spell of high pressure then.

The evening was still warm and without much of a breeze when I decided on a walk after setting up and having something to eat. So I set off uphill with a jacket (soon carried rather than worn), bottle of water and my camera.

A deer fence to climb through (during the ascent and return) was no big problem since there was plenty of space to squeeze between the wire.

Fair views, despite falling light levels, with something of a sunset and good prospects of the surrounding hills.

Though it was getting dark by the time that I descended - no surprise, at well after 10 pm - calling for particular care over tussocky ground, around the southern slopes and back to my tent in the gloaming.
