Route description: Castle Loch circuit, Lochmaben

Date walked: 25/05/2017

Time taken: 1.25 hours

Distance: 6.25 km

Either park in town, a small car park on the road towards Lockerbie or a slightly larger car park behind the bowling green on the Dalton/Hightae road. Best avoid the lay-byes on the Dalton/Hightae road as a number of wood trucks use this road and you might return to your car minus a wing mirror.

A particularly pleasant walk now that it’s been a “circular” for the last few years - huge effort from local fundraisers and the community - very very popular.

Duck boards on the back marsh area can sometimes flood during particularly wet spells however a pair of wellies is all that’s required.
