Back out this week again to try and knock of Beinn Ime,arranged to meet Stretch at Arrochar as he nears the magic 100 mark,on our way by 8.30 am and followed the "cobbler" path, right from the start did not feel 100% and this was to continue all day with stretch having to wait all day while I caught up with those long legs, weather was fine on way up with Ben Lomond starting to wear it"s winter coat
Plodded on and got some photos of Beinn Narnain and The Cobbler both with snow coverings Got to the bealach, and had a 5min break here to fuel up and put on extra base layers in preparation for what lay ahead,as we could see the spindrift on the slopes of Ime The wind was now starting to blow a gale, but stretch did not seam to notice, and was still seting the pace, with the wind blowing,we managed to get fleeting views around us before they clagged in quickly After this photo, things got a wee bit desperate for the next 15/20min with the path icing up under fresh snow, and the wind whipping up spindrift all around and visibility down to only 1 or 2 meters, the wind at this point must have been near 45/50 mph,and was touch and go to stop and put on the crampons, had slightly lost stretch by this point but new by my gps I was still bang on line for the summit, eventually stretch appeared just before the summit, and so did the sun Did not hang about at summit for to long,as even though the sun was out it was still pretty cold in the wind.We had plans on climbing the "cobbler" on the way down, but soon put that to bed,as we thought we had more than enough adventure for one day, thanks for the company to day big man, once again enjoyed your company, look forward the next time we can arrange to meet
