Day 1 - Milngavie to Balmaha

Our first day of the West Highland Way and we were blessed with beautiful weather.
Leaving Milngavie was easy walking and we made good time barrelling along the straightforward paths, through Mugdock Country Park, past Dumgoyne.

Following the Signs to Queen Elizabeth Forest Park

As we were making good time, we stopped for a late lunch near Drymen before heading into Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and up over Conic Hill.
We eventually descended into Balmaha just before 6pm and found our accommodation in Balmaha Bunkhouse.
This was to be our longest day and it felt good to get some easy miles under our belt.
A good dinner at the Oak Tree Inn and some stretching was in order before we retired for the night.
