I'd headed to Morven earlier this year but had to turn back because the gate passed the ruined house was tied shut with steel wire and I had Millie with me who couldn't clear the fence. Attempted again today, gate still shut shut but with just Moss she could jump it. Easy enough going the heather covering the tracks and with all the sheep I suspect there may well be a lot of ticks about up there. Headed up the steep bit first and returned via the gentler route. The return route was a lot boggier than the ascent route but easily enough to get around the bad bits. It was pretty dark up there, no rain on the hill but could see rain clouds all around. Two flocks of golden plover flew by.
