The day after Biggles reached his century we went up A Ghlas-bheinn in a strange autumn day where cloud clung to A Ghlas-bheinn, but was beautifully clear elsewhere. Our walk to Bealach an Sgairne was fine, but from there to the summit was in clag, which to be fair looked as though it would lift and eventually did. The weather didn't look too settled even after a lazy lunch at the summit, so we decided to retrace our steps to see something of the views of the wonderful wilderness to the north and east. At the start of the walk we witnessed the sun projecting a shadow of the mountains onto some wispy clouds - the photo doesn't do justice to the phenomenon, which I've never witnessed before.
