Mark, Hamish and I drive down Fri. night and wild camp at Polmaddy forestry area near Carsphairn.
Drive round Clatteringshaws loch to parking area on forestry drive and set off at 10am.
Dreich, damp and breezy, low cloud means visibility poor at start of walk and head off from track towards sound burns at sharp corner. Grassy tussocks to start but just follow left hand burn to near summit area and over few lumps to trig point summit in 1h 30min. One happy dog today, bouncing thro grass. Quick snack on descent in sheltered area and quickly back on track and back to car by 12.45.
Quick change and a cuppa and off to Dumfries (1hr drive) to see Saints win league cup tie 4-2 Vs QOS.
Tea in Moffat car park and home via Marks by 10.30pm
