Like a lot of these classic ridge walks it's all about timing and getting the weather on your side. Today was not the best day to get the most from this route but that's hill walking; you take the rough with the smooth.
This route has the potential to be a fantastic day out and I expect it's often overlooked with An Teallach just a short drive up the road.
As the introduction suggests this was a grin and bear it day with near gale force winds on top, max 50m visibility and horizontal rain. The two points that may be of help to someone else heading out on this route are as follows: Firstly, the initial climb up Meall a'Chrasgaidh is calf burningly steep so be ready for a bit of a work out. Secondly, some of the stream crossings on the return route down the Allt Breabaig stalkers path were definite boot fillers in these "summer" conditions so will definitely be challenging later in the year.
I certainly intend to come back and get up the neighbouring Sgurr Mor on a clear day to see what I missed this time around.
