At the end of July we spent a day in the Galloway Forest Park. The weather was disappointing (instead of forecast sunshine, we got a cloudy morning and rain in the afternoon), but before things got too wet we managed to do the walk taking in Murray's Monument and the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall (not to be confused with the bigger one near Moffat). There are two waterfalls close to the path - the upper one is reached by an informal trod branching off to the right:
The lower fall is much easier to get to, just above the car park:

A nice short walk, even if it wasn't under the blue skies we hoped for.
