1543: Back at the oven, windows down drive to Dundonnell hostel
Summary:Almost perfect walking conditions with excellent stalker's path in dry conditions for most of day. Pursued by midges until height reached, then beautiful breeze to keep them at bay for rest of day. Not too hot, except in lee of hills. A few good streams along the way. Excellent potential camp spots in glen of Allt an Lochan Sgeirich. Views of Torridon/Assynt and Dundonnell - ridiculous. Navigation therefore easy, though reaching SB summit from plateau at head of Allt an Lochan Sgeirich could be difficult in any other conditions. SB summit very windy, cold after a while, though just off summit, wind dropped completely. Very pleasant walk out, much of it on a slight decline. Good chat with man from Stoke at stream heading out to camp. Baking car. Improvised shower before drive back to hostel past people sweating in the heat waiting for a bus. Awesome day.
