The walk started with the stress of trying to find a parking space. The train station doesn't have a lot of spaces for cars and the street that runs along it was already full of cars, no parking and residents only signs. I drove back through the village hoping to find some parking nearby but there seemed to be nothing until I reached a coffee shop which is on the way out south. The cafe car park is quite big and the walk back to the level crossing ,where the walk begins, only took about 15 minutes. Not many walks are that easily accessible by public transport and I wished I had taken the train instead of driving. Next time. It was a beautiful, sunny day and I was really excited about the upcoming views. I let the photos describe the walk. There are a couple of things still worth mentioning. The forestry is doing some tree felling at the moment and it is just where you start going up, at the grassy break so you need to be careful and keep to the right at first. The ascent is steep to the point that I did zig zag and I had to stop a few times to catch a breath. The worst part of the walk for me was the descent. It was boggy and I there were loads of deer around and it is the rutting season so I tried to be careful where I was going. Obviously, I was keeping the dog on the lead and very close to me. It was a relief to reach the fence and the stile.
