Cairn and second wire bridge

Just to add a note to say that the second wire bridge is located where the new wide stalkers path reaches the burn. The cairn should be more obvious now as it has been built up a bit more. It is located just after the road takes a sharp left hand turn. The bridge was in good order, two wires with the top one covered in pipe to protect your hands. Great day out. We took bikes up until the cairn which reduced the day out to 7h30m.

last week the second wire bridge was quite unusable. the post on the far side had slipped and was lying at quite an angle from vertical meaning that the upper wire had virtually no tension. fortunately we were able to ford the stream although on the return journey after a heavy fall of rain around midday there was no alternative to getting our feet and legs very wet
