Having been up An Sgurr in the morning and back at the bunkhouse for some food and refreshments Callander Girl and I decided it was too good a day to miss out doing the the other Sub2 Sgorr an Fharaidh on the North of the Island. This would mean quite a long walk on tarmac both start and finish of the walk but no problems the sun was shining the views were good just do it.

Leaving the bunkhouse by the grassy track which takes you up to the one road to the North of the island The Sgurr readily visible in the far distance
b.jpg
Now on the road and passing the Church on your left
c.jpg
Small Eigg museum worth a wee look into
d.jpg
Rum Cuillin in the distance with an old shed showing signs of some DIY or maybe slightly past it
e.jpg
A wee seat at Cleadsale war memorial before the start of the climb proper
f.jpg
You can detect the line of the route just behind the white house on the right hand side of photograph
g.jpg
Looking back down from above. The climb is quite steep in places but should not cause any problems, its certainly quite dry and an easily followed path
h.jpg
Looking back from further up at a section just before reaching the summit ridge
i.jpg
Nearly there and now on heather but you should quickly find a wee path just off the cliff line. Still very dry underfoot. The finger of God in front.
j.jpg
After crossing a burn and finding path just follow it the full distance to the summit
k.jpg
Gtreat views over the singing sands and over to Rum
l.jpg
The path is well worn and easily to find, the hard work done, just enjoy your high level walk with stunning views
m.jpg
View from the summit overlooking the Sgurr at the other end of Eigg and the bay of Laig just stunning so glad we did this walk. There is a pretty good path down, steep in places, the lower part of the field has cattle and is slightly wet in places its just a matter of staying high and dry. Now for the tarmac walk.

Wish we had this report when we climbed it from far further back through much rougher rubbish until we got to near the cliff edge. Nice report.

That's a shame, I loved that walk even with the tarmac, when did you go there and where did you stay. Really nice Bunkhouse for a crowd ,pity once again we did not have the best of weather but made the most of one day.
I'm on catchup as you might of guessed.
