Yummicking through the heather on promenade du dimanche

There are two paths in Glen Feshie that we use for Sunday walks that have stretches of around one kilometre of knee deep heather obscuring the fine old ways taken by former generations . Both are marked on the 1:50,000 and on the 1:25,000 maps. The old stalkers path from Ruigh Aiteachain upwards to .737, lochan Nam Bo and onto Mullach Clach a' Bhlair that nowadays does not seem to get much use although it is on one of the described routes to the Munro on the WH list....maybe most folks use the estate road overlooking Coire Garbhlach for up and down.
The path from the Balnascriten road end to .603 on Creag Ghiuthsachan has the additional problem for the walker who has to stumble over the left behind tree stumps after the tree gobbling machines clear felled the plantation around ten years ago basically obliterating the fine path still useable after the the sapplings were planted and had grown up to the size for harvesting. Creag Ghiuthsachan is a fine wee viewing platform for much of the lower Feshie area and beyond in all directions. First get through the carnage of the aftermath of felled trees to link up with what remains of the grand upper section of the path. The felled trees have all been removed.

use of a few waypoints....trees of the wrong type left behind during felling. Also a few stones have been placed on the stumps of the trees felled.

a bonny wee lochan....the path does exist under the knee deep heather....needs more use.
