Following a great day on the Cobbler and one of its satellites, Beinn Narnain, Dad and I headed for Glencoe and the mighty Bookle. Setting off from the layby at 10am, it was clear that it was going to be a scorcher…

Setting off, we crossed the river, followed the track past the Lagangarbh hut and made our way up the steep eroded path into Coire na Tulaich.

It was hot work; Dad here turning his trousers into shorts

After scrambling around on loose scree, we finally made the summit ridge, taking in views across Rannoch Moor that aren’t seen too often…

The first summit reached, we were treated to fabulous views

After soaking up the views, we started to make our way along the long ridge. Looking back was incredible

As we were in Scotland and therefore expecting it to rain, we had no suncream. To avoid becoming any more lobsterfied, we started to head down. It was a long way back afterall!

Looking back at where we’d been

Really wanted to jump into this burn

Back at the car. What a day – scorchio!
