After a wet, windy and cold Ben Nevis two years previously, Dad was again visiting and suggested heading up the Cobbler. The weather looked good and I was of course game for anything. Parking up at Arrochar, we set off along the path before dad suggested that a more interesting route was to scramble up a stream….not sure how it compared to the usual route but it was interesting!

Joining back onto the main path we continued up the now very easy route.

Soon it started to go much more steeply up and was a lot more hands on.

Scrambling our way up we visited the different summits before I expressed a desire to go to the ‘proper top’

Sadly we disagreed on this; we compromised and I sat in the gap. So I will have to come back to properly climb the Cobbler!

I was enjoying the views of the other mountains all around and stopped to chat to others to see what they were doing (some things never change…!) I was having a great day in the hills and didn’t want it to end, so suggested heading up Beinn Narnain on the way back. Dad didn’t seem massively impressed but somehow I, or the fantastic weather, managed to win him over!

Down at the path again, we struck off up Beinn Narnain.

It was very warm and the sun was shining but we made it to the top and the views were awesome! Glad that we had made another summit, and prolonged our day, we headed back down and returned to the car.
