We got the train to Dunblane then a C48 bus to Ashfield right outside the station. There are not many buses to Ashfield so you need to check the timetable. It is only an 11 minutes ride.

The walk from Ashfied was fIairly easy. We walk at a very leisurely pace. It was a dreach day but would be lovely in a fine day. You follow the Allan water all the way.

After having a look round the magnificent cathedral we had lunch at one of the many nice cafes in Dunblane then set off for the Dunblane to Bridge of Allan walk, another 1.5 hours of easy walking. - See my walk report.

Then train back from Bridge of Allan. There is a pub very near the station. A very nice day out.
