Minus ten at Braemar but minus three at the start of the walk. The ground was not quite as iron hard as I thought it might be and the first half of the walk was easy, even in the semi-dark. After the turn off the track got a little more icy so I slowed down a bit to avoid a mishap. No need for microspikes or crampons on the way up but I had both with me just in case.
Had a good look round the summit area although the views were mostly of grey hills struggling to shake off the equally grey cloud. Still, a different sort of a winter scene with the frost everywhere and another new hill for me.
Descended a lot more cautiously as the icy spots were working more against me.
