Today’s trip took me to a Corbett that had been on my hit list for a wee while. Located just across Loch Linnhe from Fort William I always imagined heading up this on its eastern slopes ad approaching from Corran.
However, due to a number of reasons, I decided on travelling up the A9 and along past Spean Bridge. After about 3 hours of driving I parked up and set about heading upwards. Given the drive, it got me thinking about the intricacies of bagging the mountains in Scotland – one needs to be dedicated – and a keen driver!! Not to mention the early starts!!
An improving forecast saw me eventually reach the summit as the cloud lifted and gave me some wonderful views of a wonderful part of the country. With no Munros in Ardgour it was relatively quiet and I got some magic views of the wild and rugged mountains. It was a bit blowy , but can’t complain – it is winter in Scotland
