Achieving the house at Badvoon can be boggy, but it may be easier in drier times to stay uphill of the direct line to this house. Alternatively, it is also possible to drop down to the burn to get drier footing and walk beside it up to the house.

The way onward is past the house, uphill, past the forestry gate / style and on uphill.

Waymarks seem not be be maintained (2009) and should not be counted upon being in place.

The route goes generally uphill at a very shallow angle through brush, heather and bracken following the burn upstream. Children could find the going difficult.

The burn and your route intersects a forestry road which, by taking to the left (east) brings you easily back downhill to the start.

A nice walk. Two stars is enough because of the difficult going at some times of the year. With better pathmaking this would rank much higher.

Yes, the original track to Badvoon is completely waterlogged. We found it much drier to head way over to the right to pass this part and then cut back to Badvoon. We met the guy who lived there - with no possible approach to his house by vehicle.
