Day 1 of first annual winter trip. We (me, Jen, Brad, EJ and Craig) stayed at the Ochils Mountaineering Club hut and got there the night before for a few drinks.

Hut has excellent faciltityes asnd good parking.

Forecast was rubbish but manageable so we planned to climb An Caisteal with Bein A' Chroin.

We set off the normal start and headed across the boggy ground with intermittant wet snow showers. As we got highter the snow firmed up. No views as we were in the clag but everything was goign to plan.

Spent some time doing arrests.

We soon kicked up to the fun bit climbing up the rocks and along the ridge to the summit. The wind was picking up but still no problem.

We decided to head on to BEinn a'Chroin but as we picked our way down through the crags the wind started to getting stronger and stronger.

At the bealach we decided the best option was to bail and headed down the deep powder snow in the glen and back to the car.

HEaded to the real food cafe for dinner and had a few drinks in the snug.
