Summary:
Fine, straightforward early winter's day. No encounters, lay-by empty at start and end of day. Views quickly gained down Loch Creran and beyond to Lismore, with more awesome views eastwards of the Cruachan range reflecting in Loch Etive, winter sunshine behind. Ground crisp and frozen at height. Absolute silence in lee of wind on ridge. Spotted some birds with winter feathers (grouse?). Meall Garbh proved a frustrating false summit, Beinn Sgulaird about an hour further on. Well timed arrival at summit, sunshine still out. Departed 15 mins later as cloud bank moved in just above head, filtering the sun somewhat. Thereafter, a dull, but still fine bimble down back to car. Easy but satisfying day.
