Beinn Dubhchraig + Ben Oss

Summary:
Cracking forecast for January. Crisp, dry, light winds. Packed car park at Dalrigh. Took a wrong turn lazily following a German walker who I later caught up with, both realising our mistake, laughing about it. Missed footbridge and headed up by Allt Gleann Auchreaoch instead, had to double back, don't know how we missed it. Coille Coire-Chuilc delightful. Extremely boggy higher up when emerging from treeline. Thereafter, ground frozen with hoarfrost, walking excellent, occasionally glassy. Views opening up of Strath Fillan quickly superseded by views south to Loch Lomond and morning sun. Much vapour trail photography. Ascent to Beinn Dubhchraig straightforward and again, views stunning. Quite bitter, but no stinging wind chill. Traverse to bealach and Ben Oss straightforward on good path. More stunning views from Ben Oss, though limited as flatter on top. Good recce of Ben Lui for next day, where snow visible on top. Traverse of all 4 looks hard work, lot of descent-reascent between Oss and Lui. Retrace of steps and down to Strath Fillan, well timed walk for length of day - attempting more would have required lot of head torch walking. Lots of opportunities to wash boots in streams after second bogfest. Saw two other walkers from a distance, otherwise quiet. No wildlife. Very satisfying winter's day.
