A post Christmas walk with Jen who drove after meeting up in Keith.

The weather was low claoud but dry and most of the snow had gone which was unfortunate as we were wearing winter boots and carrying crampons and axes. Oh well a it of extra effort is good for the fitness.

It was a long walk in along the Feshie on the good landrover track. The previous January#s flooding was evident with the parts close to the river and the bridge having been washed away, but we clumped on in our boots before turning off opposite Carnachuin lodge.

IT was a steady climb up more lanrover path up to the bealch where the path disapperared and we were on the flat platea in cloud. The wind was up as well and my new winter mits got a good test (passed admirably).

We followed a southerly bairing to the cairn. Can;t belive how flat it was. After somethign to eat we headed back to the bealach and then dropped a little picking up the path to Meall Dubhag (munro top). Only the summit was in cloud so we had some views. and bumbed into some other walkers.

From here we skirted further north round to Carm BAn Mor (Munro top). Good views sown Loch Einich and some ciarngorm big boys from here. We though about heading further north to Sgor Gaoith but light was fading so we headed off SW then west to pick up the steep track back down to Achlean. Out of the wind it was quite mild.

Good day to burn off some turkey
