After enjoying two very special days using the buses to visit Portree and the Bella jane to visit Loch Coruisk, both absolute treats, it was time for a mountain walk again :D :D :D

And the whole Cuillin Ridge appears :)

What a day :)

Valerie loving the return to Skye every bit as much as I :)

Where red meets black in the mighty Cuillin Hills :)

A small saddle ridge and some scrambling to reach the top of this magical mountain :)

Enjoying a celebration before wondering how to get back down! LOL

Summit self ecstasy :)

The way we came up :)

The way we went down, with Belig now in our sights:)

Garbh-bheinn slopes and the unmistakable Clach Ghlas pinnacle!!!

Clach Ghlas over there due south. Tantalising as ever :) :) :)
IMG_20190411_142912.jpg
Bealach na Beiste after a careful descent provided a great resting spot before Belig slopes, beautiful :)
IMG_20190411_145947.jpg
Rocky slopes or what and a spot of route finding required :)
IMG_20190411_152124.jpg
Finally a winding wall takes us to the grass covered and glorious mountain top :)
IMG_20190411_152448.jpg
We stayed here taking in this awe-inspiring environment for ages :) :) :)
IMG_20190411_155632.jpg
Finally was time to go back down and re-join Hector by the roadside, where he waited patiently all fixed up and happy to run again forever round the Highlands & Islands :)

A wee reminder of the hazards out there, with a rescue chopper circulating Bla Bheinn.

I too enjoyed this side of the Cuillin….we went totally inclusive by adding both the very fine wee top of Clach Glas and then onto Blaven. A grand day out in the hills. :) So much so that a second visit was also enjoyed.

One of my fav routes on Skye :D It definitely deserves a few WOWS!
We did it once in icy conditions, it was hairy, especially near the summit of Garbh-bheinn. But the views were worth the effort (including my wet pants)  The pinnacle of Clach Glas is something special, not that I will ever climb it...

A good day on Garbh-bheinn in 2015:

This is the kind of report that messes with my hill-climbing priorities, just when I thought I had them sorted

Wow, wow, wow! Absolutely. The views from these hills are just superb, and you certainly got the weather for it!

Somehow I seem to have missed the shots of you both on the summit of Clach Glas... :)

Don't have a summit shot just two images that I took on Clach Glas ….maybe will show some of the terrain.

After a pull up onto a juggy ledge and then move right to swing round onto a fine easy slab that will get you to the summit

2 7%20%20Descent%20from%20The%20Imposter.jpg
The last part of the descent from the summit...followed by more scrambling then a wee diff chimney that gets you closer to Blaven
