Well. Finally did it. For a year or so now, Facebook has teased me with videos of Scotland from up high.

In the last few months I decided I was gonna go for it. I joined a gym (I was tremendously unfit) and started planning for it.

This one was chosen by my more experienced friend as it was the right mix of simple and close. But most importantly it was one that he hasn't ticked off yet.

Good path for the majority of the way up. With a small scramble at the end. In the opinion of my friend it was on of the easier ones he has climbed. But I'll admit I started to struggle on the final steep stretch when my heels were blistering to hell. The day was warm but unfortunately it was quite misty at the top. So not much of a view. But what an experience.

Back to the gym for me but hopefully this is the first of many. Lee if you read this sorry for holding you back. But thank you for taking me along.

Well done on the first of many.
Keep out on those hills and you'll soon see your fitness develop.
May the views be with you

Good stuff. My first Munro is lost in the mists of time...my only memory is that it was a sunny day, sunny days were reserved for hills, husband had been out a lot that week, so sister and I said WE ARE GOING TO CLIMB A HILL (while you look after the baby).Spur of the moment decisions like that leave one feeling desperately unfit. At least you had the sense to go to the gym, but only hills really prepare you for hills. Good luck and keep on ascending.
